It was such a beautiful day which meant we just had to get out and hike some of the places in our book. (this book is a gift my husband got me last year with 60 hikes in our area which we are working on completing) So when we got home I was thinking a great day to end a wonderful day was to grill turkey burgers for dinner. I can not wait until summer hits and we can grill every night!
On the theme of summer I have another awesome recipe that not only will make healthy conscious parents happy but kids as well. My son loves popsicles and while I can sometimes find ones that are really good for you, they are not good on my wallet. Plus it is so easy to make these desserts at home and for a small price too. I found my containers at the dollar store and the awesome thing is they are reusable.
It was so nice today and we all know what that means! Nice weather and longer days means its time to brush the dust off the grills. Now normally the grill is only a man’s territory, but my daughter ended up with four girls so we all got to watch him make magic and even get some ideas too. Get ready for summer with this awesome chicken!
So I have wanted to be more consistent with this blog but sadly I don’t have to money to try a new recipe everyday (well I could but my husband has a hold of my wallet). So I have decided to share some advice I have come to love.
So while I was on my way to and from my parents this weekend with my family, it came across my mind that no matter how good you are with cooking healthy at home and working out five days a week, when you go on a vacation even if just for a day if can really set you off track.
Now meringue cookies are naturally low in calories because they lack a lot of what makes a cookie, well a cookie. You won’t find flour or oil in these cookies which saves a lot on the scale. However these cookies can lack a lot of flavor so you have to really improvise with what you add in. This cookie is filled with yummy mini chocolate chips and a nice sweet coconut taste. If you don’t like coconut then go ahead and leave that out and add another tablespoon of mini chips.
Oh pinterest will be the death of me, or at least my bank account. So while browsing through the wonderful website the other day I came across these awesome pictures of food in a mini muffin tin, but like everything I really love the picture only led to a random website with the picture, no real article. But hey I know how to cook! No need for a recipe I will just make my own. And so I did. Now my family loves corn dogs. One of my cheats I do is if we go to the local movie theater (which is never these days because for three of us its close to $40) I always allow myself to get the corn dogs. I mean once in a great while won’t kill you. Well my husband decided he needed more so he went out and bought a box of the frozen ones. No fair to me at all. They are my ultimate demise.
Stuffed peppers always reminded me of something you could only get in a restaurant (and it be good of course). So earlier this week I was aimlessly watching my food network shows and Giada decided she was going to stuffed peppers. Well of course she was, the woman always did everything perfectly and makes it look so easy, well a caveman could do it. So I took a few notes promising myself that one day I would make Giada proud and make my own stuffed peppers. Well today was that day! Let me tell you, they are really easy and anyone with a little bit of cooking experience could pull this off.
