Homemade French Fries

homemadefrenchfriesAlmost everyone I know loves french fries. I really love french fries. They are so tasty and amazing. Oh wonderful french fries. However when I joined weight watchers last year, french fries disappeared from my menu, until now. These are easy, you don’t have to fry them. And they taste even better then my diner favorite steak fries!

You can add some fat free cheese to the top and broil for about five minutes for yummy cheese fries. This just adds 1 more point to the original recipe.

Here is what you will need:

  • 3 medium sized pototoes
  • olive oil spray
  • 1 tsp of salt

Here is what you do:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degree F.
  2. Remove the skin from the potatoes and cut into 1 inch pieces. If you cut them to small they will just burn and become crispy. Once cut soak in water for a couple minutes then pat dry completely. If you are in a rush you can skip this step, but remember to make sure the potatoes are dry.
  3. Arrange onto a baking tray and spray lightly with olive oil. Bake for 15 minutes then flip the french fries and bake for about another 15 minutes or until golden brown. Take out of the oven and lightly salt then enjoy.

This recipe serves four people and each serving is just 3 ww points. These are amazing to serve with anything from chicken tenders to grilled burgers. Their restaurant counter parts can be very hefty in calories and if you are on ww they can be just down right bad. But this is a nice healthy way to enjoy everyone’s favorite treat.
